A compact metal slice that casts hard, sinks fast, and gets hit by a wide range of Australian fish.
This 20 gram metal slice is built for covering water. The tapered body punches out long casts with minimal effort making it a great option for surf gutters, rock ledges, breakwalls, estuary channels, rips, and open flats where distance matters.
It is ideal for chasing tailor, salmon, dart, bonito, trevally, flathead, mackerel and other fast-moving predators that feed on small baitfish.
Why it works
The slim baitfish profile gives the lure a natural fleeing-bait action, while the metal body lets you cast into wind, reach feeding fish, and work deeper water when needed.
On the retrieve, it can be burned back fast, hopped through gutters, allowed to flutter on the drop, jigged vertically, or trolled behind a boat or kayak. Many strikes come as the lure sinks and flutters back down especially when fish are following but not committing.
How to fish it
Start with a steady medium retrieve. If fish are active speed it up.
If you are getting follows or bumps without hook-ups, try a rip-and-pause retrieve: wind quickly for a few turns, then let the lure drop. That fluttering fall often triggers the bite.
You can also bounce the rod tip while retrieving to create a more erratic injured-bait action.
