#4 RED LONG-SHANK HOOKS

Whiting have relatively small mouths and are commonly targeted with long, narrow baits such as:

• Bloodworms

• Prawn strips

That's why each rig is fitted with #4 red long-shank bloodworm-style hooks.

The longer shank gives you plenty of room to thread worm and strip baits along the hook while also making hook removal easier once the fish is landed.

The red finish adds a small flash of colour around the bait without turning the rig into something unnecessarily complicated.

LIGHT 10 LB TRACE

Whiting spend much of their time feeding over sand, mud and shallow estuary bottoms where a subtle presentation can matter.

The 10 lb monofilament trace keeps the rig light enough for baits to move naturally with the current rather than looking stiff and overbuilt.

It's a practical balance for targeting:

• Yellowfin whiting
• King George whiting

as well as other small estuary and inshore species that pick up the same baits.

A LITTLE LUMO BESIDE EVERY BAIT

Each hook trace carries a small lumo bead positioned close to the hook.

It's not there to turn the rig into a Christmas tree.

It's simply another small visual point close to the bait that may help attract attention in:

• Low-light conditions

The bait still does the real work.

QUICK SINKER CHANGES

At the bottom of the rig is a weight attachment clip.

That means you're not cutting and retying the rig every time the conditions change.

Use a lighter sinker when the water allows it.

Go heavier when:

HOW TO FISH THE RIG

1. Connect the rig

Attach the top swivel to your main line.

2. Add your sinker

Clip your preferred beach or estuary sinker onto the bottom weight attachment.

Thread on your preferred whiting bait.

4. Cast into likely water
